Dr. Jeff Engelman, Vice President and Global Head of Oncology Research, directs cancer drug discovery at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research.
Jeff received his B.A. in Chemistry from Northwestern University in 1993 and his MD and PhD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2000. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a fellowship in Hematology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and postdoctoral research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Before joining Novartis, he was Director of the Center for Thoracic Oncology and Molecular Therapeutics at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he studied responses to targeted therapies and mechanisms of resistance in lung cancer. He was also an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.
