Marisa joined Takeda in May of 2022, as the Head of Clinical Site Startup & Engagement. In this role, Marisa led a team dedicated to accelerating clinical trials and optimizing sites relationships across the following areas: Study Startup, Feasibility, Clinical Trial Diversity, Patient Recruitment, Site Engagement, Site Budgets & Contracting, and Site Payments. In 2026, Marisa shifted to take on responsibility for the Study and Program Management teams as the Head of Global Clinical Operations.
Before joining Takeda, Marisa served as the Global Head of Study Start-Up and Site Strategy at Vertex, where she led both the Global Site Start Up team and Global Regional Site Advocate team and managed site start up and investigator site relationships across the rare disease portfolio.
Prior to Vertex, Marisa spent 17 years at Merck, where she built her expertise in clinical operations, including leading study management groups and the teams responsible for clinical trial feasibility and recruitment strategies for Merck’s late-stage development projects.
Marisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Scranton and a Master’s degree in Health Administration from Seton Hall University.
